Commending the Hampton Roads Chamber.

WHEREAS, for 225 years, the Hampton Roads Chamber has served as the premier voice of the regional business community, advancing economic prosperity and improving the quality of life throughout Hampton Roads; and
WHEREAS, established in 1801, the Hampton Roads Chamber is one of the oldest chambers of commerce in the United States and has demonstrated enduring leadership through centuries of economic, industrial, and social transformation; and
WHEREAS, the Hampton Roads Chamber has remained steadfast in its mission to promote a strong, resilient, and competitive regional economy by advocating for pro-business public policy, workforce development, and strategic regional collaboration; and
WHEREAS, the Hampton Roads Chamber has played a pivotal role in fostering innovation, supporting entrepreneurship, and strengthening key regional industries, including the defense and maritime sectors, advanced manufacturing, logistics, cybersecurity, energy, and health care; and
WHEREAS, the Hampton Roads Chamber has been a unifying force across the region, bringing together businesses of all sizes, public and private sector leaders, and community stakeholders to address shared challenges and advance collective solutions; and
WHEREAS, through its leadership programs, signature events, advocacy initiatives, and economic development partnerships, the Hampton Roads Chamber has cultivated generations of civic and business leaders committed to the long-term success of the region; and
WHEREAS, for more than two centuries, the Hampton Roads Chamber has demonstrated unwavering dedication to its members and contributed to job creation, regional competitiveness, and sustained economic growth across southeastern Virginia; and
WHEREAS, the 225th anniversary of the Hampton Roads Chamber provides a meaningful opportunity to reflect upon its proud history, recognize its lasting impact, and reaffirm its commitment to shaping a strong and prosperous future for the Hampton Roads region; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Hampton Roads Chamber for its contributions to the Hampton Roads community on the occasion of its 225th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Hampton Roads Chamber as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the organization's legacy of service and regional leadership.
