Celebrating the life of Cecil Allen Reynolds.

WHEREAS, Cecil Allen Reynolds, a distinguished law-enforcement officer, accomplished businessman, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and beloved member of the Madison Heights community, died on July 31, 2025; and
WHEREAS, a native of Appomattox County, Cecil Reynolds joined the Appomattox County Sheriff's Office as a deputy in 1966 and through his leadership and professionalism earned a promotion to chief deputy sheriff five years later; and
WHEREAS, Cecil Reynolds retired from the Appomattox County Sheriff's Office in 1988, but shortly thereafter returned to his law-enforcement career by serving as a deputy with the Amherst County Sheriff's Office from 1990 to 1997; and
WHEREAS, both during and after his career in law enforcement, Cecil Reynolds found success as a plumber and electrician with his own business, CA Reynolds Plumbing and Electrical; and
WHEREAS, Cecil Reynolds learned the plumbing and electrical trades as a teenager and could be reliably called upon by members of the community any time of day for assistance with their plumbing and electrical needs; and
WHEREAS, Cecil Reynolds showed extraordinary generosity and a willingness to help others both as a law-enforcement officer and in his management of CA Reynolds Plumbing and Electrical, as he often adjusted his rates to accommodate individuals that lacked the resources to pay for his services; and
WHEREAS, guided by his deep and abiding faith, Cecil Reynolds was a lifelong member of New Hope Baptist Church in Appomattox County; and
WHEREAS, Cecil Reynolds will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife, Margaret; his children, Rita, Tina, Trudy, and Wendy, and their families; his brother, Ralph; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Cecil Allen Reynolds, a cherished member of the Madison Heights community whose legacy of service and dedication will continue to inspire those who knew him for many years to come; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Cecil Allen Reynolds as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
