Commending Lydia Larimore.

WHEREAS, Lydia Larimore, a trusted professional at Neabsco Elementary School in Prince William County, was selected as the 2025 Counselor of the Year by the Virginia School Counselor Association; and

WHEREAS, Lydia Larimore became a school counselor in 2021 to provide young people with a supportive advocate who helps them overcome life's challenges and achieve their fullest potential in and out the classroom; and

WHEREAS, the Counselor of the Year award recognizes Lydia Larimore's legacy of service to students, innovative approach to counseling, significant contributions to the school, and leadership to the wider community; and

WHEREAS, Lydia Larimore promotes the idea that students learn and grow best when given tangible opportunities to lead, demonstrate empathy, build connections, and develop positive mindsets; and

WHEREAS, over the course of her career, Lydia Larimore has developed strong bonds with students, family members, and the faculty and staff of Neabsco Elementary School to cultivate a nurturing, inclusive environment where students can grow socially, emotionally, and academically; and

WHEREAS, as a state honoree, Lydia Larimore represented the Commonwealth as a finalist for the 2026 School Counselor of the Year award from the American School Counselor Association; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Lydia Larimore hereby be commended on her selection as 2025 Counselor of the Year in Virginia; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Lydia Larimore as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her unwavering commitment to the health and wellness of students at Neabsco Elementary School.
