Commending the Middlebrook Ruritan Club.

WHEREAS, Middlebrook Ruritan Club, a local chapter of Ruritan National, Inc., which is dedicated to aiding the Middlebrook community and the surrounding areas through fellowship, goodwill, and service, celebrates its 85th anniversary in 2025; and

WHEREAS, Middlebrook Ruritan Club was chartered on April 16, 1940, by a group of 46 dedicated volunteers, who elected H.C. Rosen and I.R. Swortzel to serve as the club's first president and vice president, respectively; and

WHEREAS, for the past 85 years, Middlebrook Ruritan Club has spearheaded numerous charitable events and initiatives to assist individuals and families in need; and

WHEREAS, Middlebrook Ruritan Club has enhanced its impact on the region by helping to start Ruritan Clubs in Massies Mill in Nelson County, Upper Tract in West Virginia, Mill Gap in Highland County, and Beverley Manor in Augusta County; and

WHEREAS, as a result of its generous support of the construction of the Ruritan National home office in Dublin, Middlebrook Ruritan Club was granted “Honor Roll Club” status by Ruritan National; and

WHEREAS, Middlebrook Ruritan Club has been ably led through the years by a succession of compassionate and experienced leaders, including its current president, Harry Baldwin, and vice president, Patrick Stamm; and

WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Middlebrook Ruritan Club are the result of the unwavering commitment of the organization's volunteer members, who have helped to make Middlebrook and the surrounding region a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Middlebrook Ruritan Club hereby be commended for its legacy of service on the occasion of its 85th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Middlebrook Ruritan Club as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's contributions to Middlebrook and the Commonwealth.
