Commending Joan McClung.

WHEREAS, Joan McClung has promoted literacy in Orange County for more than two decades by providing visionary leadership to the Orange County Library Board of Trustees; and

WHEREAS, currently representing District 2 and serving as vice chair, Joan McClung has completed five four-year terms on the Orange County Library Board of Trustees, demonstrating her commitment to public service; and

WHEREAS, as a member of the Orange County Library Board of Trustees, Joan McClung has set library policies, conducted advocacy, and provided guidance and input on the library's budget, among other duties; and

WHEREAS, Joan McClung has promoted accessibility throughout the Orange County Public Library system and promoted the creation of a wide range of programs that have helped the library system become an invaluable community resource; and

WHEREAS, in May 2025, Joan McClung received a certificate from the Orange County Board of Supervisors recognizing her legacy of achievements on behalf of library visitors and all Orange County residents; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Joan McClung for her more than 20 years of service as a member of the Orange County Library Board of Trustees; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Joan McClung as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for her contributions to the Orange County community.
