SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 48

Commending Stanleytown Elementary School.



Agreed to by the Senate, February 12, 2026

WHEREAS, for 60 years, Stanleytown Elementary School, an outstanding public primary school in Henry County, has provided a safe, nurturing environment where students have the support they need to grow socially, emotionally, and academically; and

WHEREAS, with 260 students and 60 staff members, Stanleytown Elementary School has cultivated a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the tight-knit rural character of the Stanleytown community; and

WHEREAS, the faculty and staff members of Stanleytown Elementary School have consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning experience for all students; and

WHEREAS, the faculty and staff members of Stanleytown Elementary School often wear many hats, stepping up to solve problems as needed and going above and beyond to ensure students have the support they need to achieve their fullest potential; and

WHEREAS, the members of the Stanleytown Elementary School parent teacher organization work tirelessly to enhance the school community and enrich every student's experience through rewards and recognition; and

WHEREAS, outside of regular school hours, Stanleytown Elementary School hosts Saturday classes for children in need of extra support, parent engagement nights to keep families involved in their children's schooling, fundraisers, and other community activities; and

WHEREAS, Stanleytown Elementary School promotes volunteerism among its student body by hosting programs to support worthy charitable organizations, thus helping children develop a sense of purpose, compassion, and empathy; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That Stanleytown Elementary School hereby be commended on the occasion of its 60th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Stanleytown Elementary School as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for the school's longstanding service to young people in Henry County.
