Celebrating the life of Jennifer Kellee Salzman.

WHEREAS, Jennifer Kellee Salzman, a distinguished human resources professional, devoted wife and mother, and beloved member of the Richmond community, died on October 9, 2025, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity; and

WHEREAS, a native of Columbus, Ohio, Jennifer Salzman earned an associate degree from Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) before obtaining a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia (UVA) in 1999; and

WHEREAS, Jennifer Salzman then acquired a master's degree in education and human resources development from James Madison University in 2002 and later continued her educational journey by pursuing a doctor of philosophy degree at Old Dominion University beginning in 2024; and

WHEREAS, with a passion for helping people grow and succeed in their careers, Jennifer Salzman dedicated herself in various human resources roles over the years, including as human resources director for PVCC, compensation director for UVA, and deputy chief human resources officer for Virginia Commonwealth University; and

WHEREAS, Jennifer Salzman advanced the human resources profession in her capacity as the president of the Richmond Compensation Association from 2005 to 2011, and she advised a number of institutions of higher education to improve their compensation processes and strategies through Strategic Compensation Solutions, a consulting company she founded in 2017; and

WHEREAS, as an adjunct professor at PVCC between 2018 to 2022, Jennifer Salzman taught and mentored future generations of human resources professionals, preparing them to achieve success in their careers and to make a difference in their communities; and

WHEREAS, despite her professional and educational ambitions, Jennifer Salzman always had time for her family and to assist a friend in need, and she took great pleasure in making her home a space where everyone who passed through the doors felt welcomed and loved; and

WHEREAS, Jennifer Salzman will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her husband, Nicklous; her son, Michael; her mother, Melanie; her father and stepmother, James and Brenda; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Jennifer Kellee Salzman, a treasured member of the Richmond community whose light brightened countless lives; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Jennifer Kellee Salzman as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for her memory.
