WHEREAS, Carolyn Griffin of Winchester has served as a volunteer at Winchester Medical Center for six decades, becoming one of the most well-known and beloved figures in the hospital community; and
WHEREAS, although Carolyn Griffin has never been a paid employee of the hospital, her selfless dedication and consistent presence have provided comfort, cheer, and vital support not only to patients and staff, but also to the community at large; and
WHEREAS, in her role as chair of the Animal Assisted Therapy program, Carolyn Griffin has guided compassionate efforts that harness the healing power of human-animal bonds, bringing relief and companionship to individuals during times of illness, stress, and recovery; and
WHEREAS, Carolyn Griffin's six decades of continuous volunteer involvement reflect an exceptional span of service that exemplifies loyalty, resilience, and civic responsibility—qualities at the heart of the Commonwealth's finest traditions; and
WHEREAS, Carolyn Griffin's service has inspired peers, strengthened institutional culture at the hospital, and affirmed the importance of volunteering as a cornerstone of compassionate health care and community wellness; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Carolyn Griffin hereby be commended for her 60 years of volunteer service to Winchester Medical Center and the community as a whole; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Carolyn Griffin as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her legacy of service and steadfast devotion to others.
