WHEREAS, Chase Hedrick, a doctor of pharmacy degree candidate in the Class of 2027 at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy, received the 2025–2026 Harvey B. Morgan Award for Advancing Health Policy from the Harvey B. Morgan Institute of Government and Public Service; and

WHEREAS, Chase Hedrick has demonstrated exceptional commitment to service and the advancement of public policy studies by leading the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Pharmacy's chapter of the American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists as vice president of policy; and

WHEREAS, Chase Hedrick regularly informs chapter members of current policy topics in pharmacy, provides resources and educational materials to colleagues and other officials, and advocates for pharmacy-related issues at the state and federal levels; and

WHEREAS, Chase Hedrick was deeply involved in government affairs of the Virginia Pharmacists Association (VPhA), including attending VPhA's Legislative Days, sharing information with students, and rallying their engagement to advocate for Medicaid pharmacy benefit manager reform to benefit patients and pharmacies and to promote the Save Our Local Pharmacies Act; and

WHEREAS, Chase Hedrick worked with the VPhA to identify pharmacists by voting districts to enhance advocacy opportunities; and

WHEREAS, Chase Hedrick led a group of VCU student pharmacists to the headquarters of the American Pharmacists Association in Washington, D.C., to launch American Pharmacists Month and worked with the VPhA to draft a proclamation and advocate for Virginia Pharmacists Month to be declared by the governor of the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, Chase Hedrick has served as the director of national development and president of VCU's chapter of the Industry Pharmacists Organization; and

WHEREAS, Chase Hedrick exemplifies the highest ideals of the pharmacy profession, the Harvey B. Morgan Institute of Government and Public Service, and the VCU School of Pharmacy; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Chase Hedrick hereby be commended for receiving the 2025–2026 Harvey B. Morgan Award for Advancing Health Policy; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Chase Hedrick as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his contributions to pharmacy and patient care and best wishes for his continued success in future endeavors in public service and public policy.
