AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE

A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 15.2-2275.1, relating to certain boundary line adjustments; Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 15.2-2275.1 as follows:

§ 15.2-2275.1. Local authority on boundary line adjustments for lots that predate Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act.

A locality shall consider adopting an ordinance to provide that a boundary line adjustment for a lot of record prior to October 1, 1989, does not create a new lot of record for purposes of the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act (§ 62.1-44.15:67 et seq.).
