Commending Creeds Elementary School.

WHEREAS, Creeds Elementary School, an outstanding public primary school that has served and inspired generations of young people in Virginia Beach, celebrated the 85th anniversary of the construction of its current school building in 2025; and
WHEREAS, Creeds Elementary School traces its roots to 1848, when the Blossom Hill School was constructed in the former Princess Anne County; a second school building was erected in 1908 and the present building, by then known as the Creeds School, was constructed by the Works Progress Administration in 1939 and 1940; and
WHEREAS, the Creeds School served as a high school until it was converted to an elementary school in 1954, ultimately becoming Creeds Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, since its founding, Creeds Elementary School has provided an engaging and nurturing educational environment for young minds; generations of students have been inspired by the school's commitment to academic excellence, personal development, and community involvement; and
WHEREAS, over the years, countless parents, teachers, and administrators have worked tirelessly to ensure that Creeds Elementary School remains a beacon of learning and growth; the school maintains a 100 percent participation rate in its parent teacher association, demonstrating its commitment to family involvement in school life; and
WHEREAS, the impact of Creeds Elementary School extends far beyond the classroom, as it has played a pivotal role in shaping the values, character, and future of so many individuals who have gone on to achieve success in a wide range of career fields and community leadership; and
WHEREAS, in 2008, Creeds Elementary School was one of only 89 schools in the Commonwealth to receive the Governor's School of Excellence Award, a testament to the hard work, passion, and dedication of its educators, staff, and students; and
WHEREAS, as Creeds Elementary School commemorates the milestone 85th anniversary of its current building, the school community will celebrate not only the school's rich history but also its bright future filled with continued growth and success; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Creeds Elementary School hereby be commended on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the construction of its historic building; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Creeds Elementary School as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the school's outstanding achievements and unwavering dedication to academic excellence.
