Commending Elwood Lambert.

WHEREAS, Elwood Lambert, a distinguished resident of Giles County, has served and safeguarded members of the community as a leader in the Narrows Fire Department for more than 50 years; and
WHEREAS, Elwood Lambert joined the Narrows Fire Department in 1975 and has held every major leadership role, including engineer, assistant captain, captain, chief, and president; he has worked diligently to ensure that his firefighters have access to the latest training and equipment and advocated for enhancements to keep them safe in the course of their duties; and
WHEREAS, in addition to responding to a wide range of fires, medical emergencies, and other crisis situations, Elwood Lambert has increased community engagement through outreach programs, such as a local blood drive and school visits to discuss fire safety with children; and
WHEREAS, Elwood Lambert has provided incomparable mentorship to younger firefighters and has been a trusted and reliable friend to every member of the department; and
WHEREAS, outside of his contributions to the community as a firefighter, Elwood Lambert has enjoyed a 30-year career with Celanese Corporation, where he has earned accolades for his leadership and dedication; and
WHEREAS, Elwood Lambert's greatest joy in life is his beloved family; he has instilled the values of kindness, patience, and integrity in his children, Michael and Katie, and he can often be found supporting his grandchildren at sporting events and activities; and
WHEREAS, still an active member of the Narrows Fire Department, Elwood Lambert is a true cornerstone of the organization and a pillar of the community as a whole; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Elwood Lambert hereby be commended for his incredible legacy of service to the residents of Giles County as a member of the Narrows Fire Department; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Elwood Lambert as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his decades of personal and professional achievements in service to his community.
