Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 22.1-290.2 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 22.1-290.2. Teacher, other instructional personnel, and support staff shortages; data.

A. Each school board shall report to the Department of Education annually the number and type of teacher, other instructional personnel, and support staff vacancies exits in the school division and, for each teacher, other instructional personnel, and support staff exit occurring during the reporting year, (i) the race and ethnicity of such individual and (ii) the reason for the exit, including whether the exit of such individual was voluntary or involuntary.

B. Each approved education preparation program shall report to the Department of Education annually the number of individuals who completed the program by endorsement area.

C. The Department of Education shall (i) establish deadlines for and the format of the reporting of the data pursuant to subsections A and B and (ii) aggregate and annually report on the Department's website such data annually on the Department's website (a) in the aggregate and (b) by school division and disaggregated by race and ethnicity, employment category or classification, and reason for the exit, to the extent that such disaggregation would not result in the disclosure of any individual's personally identifiable information.
