Shall the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly, instead of the Virginia Redistricting Commission, to draw congressional district boundaries for the 2026 and 2028 elections, with the commission process resuming after the 2030 census?
A YES vote means: The General Assembly will draw new congressional district lines for the 2026 and 2028 elections. The bipartisan Redistricting Commission will not draw these districts. After the 2030 census, the commission will resume drawing congressional districts. State legislative districts are not affected. State cost: approximately $5.5 million one-time.
A NO vote means: The current congressional districts remain in place for the 2026 and 2028 elections. The Virginia Redistricting Commission continues to be responsible for drawing congressional districts. No change is made to the redistricting process. No additional state cost.
