Commending Fred Wayne Weatherman.

WHEREAS, Fred Wayne Weatherman, a distinguished public servant and local education leader, concluded his tenure on the Grayson County School Board at the end of 2025; and

WHEREAS, Fred Weatherman proudly served the students and families of Grayson County for 20 years as a member of the Grayson County School Board, first from January 1996 to December 2003, and then from January 2014 to December 2025; and

WHEREAS, as a member of the Grayson County School Board, Fred Weatherman worked tirelessly to ensure that Grayson County's students and faculty were equipped with the resources and facilities they needed to achieve success both in and out of the classroom; and

WHEREAS, beyond his work as a public servant, Fred Weatherman played an instrumental role in establishing a Dixie Youth Baseball league in Grayson County in 1982, creating an organization that has made a profoundly positive impact on countless young people's lives; and

WHEREAS, Fred Weatherman has remained actively involved with what is today the Grayson County Diamond Youth Baseball League over the years and was inducted into the Dixie Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019; and

WHEREAS, with great professionalism, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to his community's well-being, Fred Weatherman has helped to make Grayson County a wonderful place to live, work, and learn; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Fred Wayne Weatherman as he concludes his tenure on the Grayson County School Board; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Fred Wayne Weatherman as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for his contributions to Grayson County and best wishes in his future endeavors.
