Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 52-6.2 as follows:

§ 52-6.2. Executive Protection Division; security for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, etc.

In addition to the duty to provide security and transportation to the Governor and members of the Governor's immediate family, as set forth in § 18.2-60.2, the Executive Protection Division within the Department shall have a duty to provide such security and transportation to any person designated to succeed to the office of Governor or to serve as acting Governor in the case that a vacancy exists in accordance with the provisions of Article V, Section 16 of the Constitution of Virginia.
