Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding sections numbered 32.1-127.4 and 63.2-1801.1 as follows:

§ 32.1-127.4. Publicly accessible nursing home information portal; reporting of incidents involving emergency medical services.

A. The Department shall develop and maintain a publicly accessible nursing home information portal that consolidates and displays publicly available information, including inspection and survey results, disciplinary actions, and key facility performance metrics. Such portal shall be categorized by the name and location of such nursing home. The Department shall ensure that such portal is plainly and clearly accessible from the home page of its website.

B. Nursing home operators shall submit a quarterly report to the Department with information on incidents at such nursing home involving emergency medical services. Such report shall include (i) the number of incidents that occurred involving emergency medical services; (ii) the party who called for or solicited assistance from emergency medical services; (iii) any care rendered by emergency medical services and the outcome of such care; and (iv) any additional information that the Department deems relevant. The information reported pursuant to this subsection shall be included in the portal established pursuant to subsection A.

C. The Board shall adopt regulations necessary to implement the provisions of this section.

A.
