A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 65 of Title 3.2 a section numbered 3.2-6502.1, relating to Virginia Cooperative Extension Service; cats and dogs; list of toxic houseplants.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 65 of Title 3.2 a section numbered 3.2-6502.1 as follows:

§ 3.2-6502.1. Virginia Cooperative Extension Service; cats and dogs; list of toxic houseplants.

The Virginia Cooperative Extension Service shall create a list of common houseplants that are toxic to cats and dogs no later than November 1, 2026, and shall update such list at least every four years thereafter. The Department shall make such list publicly available on its website.
