TO: SENATE OF VIRGINIA SENATE BILL NO. 1336

I am signing this bill to protect residential ratepayers from having to pay an additional fee at a time when electricity bills continue to increase due to the Virginia Clean Economy Act (VCEA). Indeed, these additional fees will be substantially funded by larger power users.

Unfortunately, the increased State Corporation Commission (SCC) activity required by VCEA is driving up costs at the SCC as well. The General Assembly should ensure the SCC has adequate resources for future studies and mandates.
