HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 867

Commending TreVeyon Henderson.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 21, 2025

WHEREAS, TreVeyon Henderson participated in the Hopewell Youth Football League (HYFL) from 2010 to 2014; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon's Hopewell Youth Football League team went to the youth championship every season he participated; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon's team won the Championship in 2011, 2012, and 2013; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon was team MVP and Offensive Player of the Year every year between 2010-2014; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon scored 21+ touchdowns every season that he played youth football; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon won an award for Most Dedicated Player and was twice named the HYFL Homecoming King; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon played for the Carter G. Woodson Middle School (CGWMS) football team and was named MVP for 2015 and 2016; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon contributed to the CGWMS Wildcats winning the 2015 and 2016 Middle School District Championships; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon played for the Hopewell Blue Devils at Hopewell High School earning the following honors:

2018 First Team All-Region on offense and defense,

2019 First Team All-Region,

2019 First Team All-State,

2019 First Team All-Metro,

2019 Metro Player of the Year,

2019 3A State Player of the Year,

2019 Gatorade State Player of the Year,

2019 USA Today All-American,

3rd in the nation with 53 touchdowns, averaging 12 yards per carry; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon contributed to the Hopewell High School Blue Devils winning the 2017 and 2019 VHSL Division 3 State Championships in football; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon was the 2020 VHSL Division 3 State Champion in the 55 Meters; and

WHEREAS, upon graduation from Hopewell High School, TreVeyon was a 5 star recruit and the #1 ranked Running Back in the country; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon maintained a 4.2 GPA- making all A's his entire high school career; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon played football at Ohio State University earning the following honors:

2023 First Team All-Big 10,

2021 Second Team All-Big 10,

2024 Third Team All-Big 10,

2022 Academic All-Big 10,

2024 Senior of the Year award; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon participated in winning the 2024 NCAA National Championship in Football; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon is now the 4th all time in Ohio State history in rushing yards with 3,761; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon is now the 6th all time in Ohio State history in rushing touchdowns with 42; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon gave back to his community by donating backpacks and bibles, all with personal messages, to every player on the Hopewell varsity, junior varsity, and middle school football teams; and

WHEREAS, TreVeyon has donated thousands of dollars to GoFundMe causes for local kids who passed away to help finance their funerals; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That TreVeyon Henderson hereby be commended for his contribution to Hopewell as a role model to young athletes; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to TreVeyon Henderson as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his contributions to the Hopewell community.
