HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 865

Commending Amanda Castellucci.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 21, 2025

WHEREAS, Amanda Castellucci, an educator at Woodburn Elementary School, was named as the Outstanding Elementary School Teacher Region 2 finalist by Fairfax County Public Schools in 2024; and

WHEREAS, the Fairfax County Public Schools Outstanding Elementary Teacher Award program recognizes exemplary teachers who demonstrate dedication, commitment, and the ability to propel students to high levels of success by fostering talent and instilling a passion for academics; and

WHEREAS, Amanda Castellucci's passion for education is deeply rooted in her unwavering belief that every student, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves an education that fosters academic excellence and nurtures their individual identities and personal growth; and

WHEREAS, as a teacher of multilingual learners, Amanda Castellucci strives to encourage her students to succeed by ensuring they have the support, tools, and resources to achieve their dreams; and

WHEREAS, while maintaining high academic expectations, Amanda Castellucci treats her students with acceptance and love and reminds them that their multilingualism and multiculturalism are advantages to be treasured; and

WHEREAS, Amanda Castellucci has helped Woodburn Elementary School fulfill its mission to develop responsible citizens, creative thinkers, and lifelong learners in a safe and inclusive environment; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Amanda Castellucci hereby be commended on her selection by Fairfax County Public Schools as the 2024 Outstanding Elementary School Teacher Region 2 finalist; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Amanda Castellucci as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her contributions to young students in Fairfax County.
