HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 849
Commending the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 21, 2025
WHEREAS, the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a sisterhood of college-educated women actively engaged in serving the communities of Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park, celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2024; and
WHEREAS, the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter (PWCAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., became the 740th chapter of the distinguished and historically African American national sorority when it was chartered on December 1, 1984; and
WHEREAS, from a group of 15 charter members and six chapter members, the PWCAC has grown considerably in its membership over the years and expanded and diversified the ways in which the organization makes an impact on the lives of others; and
WHEREAS, the PWCAC supports local homeless shelters, carries out food and toy drives, and spearheads numerous other projects and initiatives in the areas of education and literacy, health and wellness, arts and culture, and business, building a remarkable legacy of service in the interest of the public good; and
WHEREAS, through a deep and unwavering commitment to their organization's mission and values, the members of the PWCAC have helped to make Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park wonderful places to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., hereby be commended on the occasion of its 40th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the group's history and its many accomplishments in service to the community.
