HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 821

Commending Simmons and Associates Realty, Inc.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 21, 2025

WHEREAS, Simmons and Associates Realty, Inc., a real estate firm in Clarksville founded by Charles F. Simmons, has helped generations of families find the perfect home in Southside Virginia's Lake Country; and

WHEREAS, Charles Simmons moved to Clarksville from Boone, North Carolina, in 1972 and taught industrial arts education in the area for several years; and

WHEREAS, Charles Simmons established Simmons and Associates Realty in 1974, then expanded into the homebuilding industry in 1977 with Simmons Construction Company; he has remained a guiding force for both businesses since their inception; and

WHEREAS, Simmons and Associates Realty and Simmons Construction have helped countless clients find their dream home or build a custom home in Clarksville, Mecklenburg County, or anywhere in the John H. Kerr Reservoir/Buggs Island Lake area; and

WHEREAS, Charles Simmons has also strengthened the community as a member of the Southside Planning District Commission and the Clarksville Economic Development Authority, and he was involved with the creation of Lakeside Commerce Park and the renovation of the Clarksville Fine Arts Center; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Simmons and Associates Realty, Inc., hereby be commended on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Charles F. Simmons, founder of Simmons and Associates Realty, Inc., as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the company's decades of contributions to the Clarksville community.
