HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 771

Commending CHIKO.



Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 18, 2025

WHEREAS, CHIKO, a Chinese and Korean fusion restaurant group by award-winning chefs Scott Drewno and Danny Lee, celebrated the grand opening of a new location in Sterling in February 2025; and

WHEREAS, Scott Drewno and Danny Lee founded The Fried Rice Collective and opened the first CHIKO location in 2017 in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C.; since that time, the restaurant has expanded to other locations in Northern Virginia and California; and

WHEREAS, while previous CHIKO locations maintain a fast-casual dining atmosphere, the new Sterling CHIKO location will be a full-service establishment with waitstaff to offer guests an elevated experience and an opportunity to better enjoy CHIKO's signature dishes; and

WHEREAS, Scott Drewno and Danny Lee have previously earned a RAMMY award from the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington in the Best New Restaurant and Best Casual Restaurant categories, and they are currently nominated for the 2025 Outstanding Restaurateur award from the James Beard Foundation; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That CHIKO hereby be commended on the occasion of the grand opening of its Sterling location in 2025; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Scott Drewno and Danny Lee, founders of CHIKO, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the restaurant's contributions to the vibrant dining scene in Northern Virginia.
