HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 739

Commending Keswick Hall.



Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 18, 2025

WHEREAS, Historic Hotels of America announced in November 2024 that Keswick Hall in Charlottesville was honored as a recipient of the 2024 Historic Hotels of America Lifetime Achievement Award; and

WHEREAS, Historic Hotels of America is the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation for recognizing and celebrating the finest historic hotels; and

WHEREAS, the Historic Hotels of America Awards of Excellence honors historic preservation and timeless hospitality at historic hotels in various categories each year; and

WHEREAS, Keswick Hall, a historic estate dating back to 1912, has been revitalized to blend its storied past with modern elegance; and

WHEREAS, situated along the Monticello Wine Trail, Keswick Hall now features a dual-level infinity pool, the acclaimed Full Cry golf course by Pete Dye, and Marigold, a renowned restaurant by Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten; and

WHEREAS, Keswick Hall offers guests a unique gateway to Virginia's natural beauty and historic sites; and

WHEREAS, Keswick Hall remains a premier destination that honors its storied past while embracing the future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Keswick Hall hereby be commended for winning the 2024 Historic Hotels of America Lifetime Achievement Award; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Molly and Robert Hardie, owners of Keswick Hall, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the hotel's achievements in historic preservation and contributions to the hospitality industry.
