HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 694
Celebrating the life of Wesley Isaiah Harrison-James.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 19, 2025
WHEREAS, Wesley Isaiah Harrison-James, a joyful member of the Portsmouth community, died on September 20, 2024; and
WHEREAS, Wesley Harrison-James was born in Portsmouth to Crystal Harrison and George Pass, Jr., and was raised and nurtured by his great aunt, the late Marilyn E. James; and
WHEREAS, Wesley Harrison-James graduated from I.C. Norcom High School in 2012, then continued his studies at Norfolk State University; and
WHEREAS, Wesley Harrison-James had a passion for the open road and obtained a commercial driver's license through Shipper's Choice of Virginia in 2021, then worked as a truck driver with QFS Transportation, LLC; and
WHEREAS, Wesley Harrison-James inspired everyone he met through his zest for life, vibrant personality, and immeasurable kindness and generosity; he forged deep bonds with his siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, goddaughter, and friends and was a trusted counselor for them in times of need; and
WHEREAS, Wesley Harrison-James was a man of deep faith, whose insights on faith and philosophy sparked engaging conversations and enriched the lives of others; and
WHEREAS, Wesley Harrison-James will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his mother, Crystal Harrison; his father, George Pass, Jr.; his siblings, Jillian, Jamea, Brittany, Yasman, Ria, Christian, and Jamar; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Wesley Isaiah Harrison-James; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Wesley Isaiah Harrison-James as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
