Celebrating the life of Justin Lee Butler, Jr.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 17, 2025

WHEREAS, Justin Lee Butler, Jr., a beloved son, brother, grandson, and great-grandson and cherished member of the Richmond community, died on January 25, 2025; and

WHEREAS, known by friends and family as “Jay,” Justin Butler was a hardworking and dedicated young man who had a promising future ahead of him; and

WHEREAS, Justin Butler was guided throughout his life by his faith, and he gave generously of his time to help others in need; and

WHEREAS, Justin Butler will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his parents, Erica and Justin, Sr.; his siblings, Ny'Angel, Chloe, Alaysia, J'Air, J'Heem, Edward, and Arian; his fiancé, Tashema; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Justin Lee Butler, Jr., a revered member of the Richmond community whose light brightened countless lives; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Justin Lee Butler, Jr., as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
