HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 678

Commending Bon Air Elementary School.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 17, 2025

WHEREAS, in 2025, Bon Air Elementary School in Chesterfield County marks 100 years of academic excellence and service to the community; and

WHEREAS, Bon Air Elementary School has been a cornerstone of education since its founding in 1925, providing a nurturing learning environment for generations of students within Chesterfield County Public Schools; and

WHEREAS, the dedicated teachers, staff, and administrators of Bon Air Elementary School have consistently demonstrated their commitment to academic achievement and character development; and

WHEREAS, Bon Air Elementary School has been recognized for its strong academic performance, ranking among the top elementary schools in Virginia; and

WHEREAS, Bon Air Elementary School has adapted to changing educational needs over the past century, while upholding the Chesterfield County Public Schools core values of integrity, equity, teamwork, and ingenuity; and

WHEREAS, Bon Air Elementary School has played a vital role in shaping the Bon Air community by fostering partnerships with local organizations and families to enrich the educational experience of its students; and

WHEREAS, Bon Air Elementary School's milestone 100th anniversary celebration provides an opportunity to reflect on the school's rich history and reaffirm its commitment to preparing students for future success; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Bon Air Elementary School hereby be commended on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the principal of Bon Air Elementary School as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the school's century of dedication to education and community service.
