HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 661

Celebrating the life of Warren Marcelous DePriest, Sr.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 17, 2025

WHEREAS, Warren Marcelous DePriest, Sr., an active and beloved member of the Sandston community, died on July 27, 2024; and

WHEREAS, guided throughout his life by his faith, Warren DePriest built End Time Tabernacle Church in Sandston, which has provided the community with a welcoming place for spiritual guidance, fellowship, and worship for many years; and

WHEREAS, Warren DePriest supported and inspired others' faith in his capacity as a deacon and gospel singer, performing often with his group the Pearly Gates throughout the 1980s and 1990s; and

WHEREAS, preceded in death by his wife, Audrey, Warren DePriest will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his children, Sandra, Oliver, Warren, Jr., and Timothy, and their families and by numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Warren Marcelous DePriest, Sr., a treasured member of the Sandston community whose dedication and service inspired all who knew him; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Warren Marcelous DePriest, Sr., as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
