HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 660

Commending Charles Collier.



Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 17, 2025

WHEREAS, Charles Collier, an esteemed employee of the City of Falls Church Police Department who admirably served the Falls Church community as a member of the City of Falls Church Retirement Board, retired from the board in 2024; and

WHEREAS, Charles Collier was a long-tenured civilian employee with the City of Falls Church Police Department, where he worked tirelessly to support the department's mission to protect and serve the community; and

WHEREAS, Charles Collier served on the City of Falls Church Retirement Board in an employee-elected position over a succession of three-year terms between 2002 and 2024; and

WHEREAS, as a member of the City of Falls Church Retirement Board, Charles Collier was a steadfast and committed advocate for both current employees and active retirees; and

WHEREAS, Charles Collier embraced his responsibilities on the City of Falls Church Retirement Board and took great care to ensure benefits were financially sound, established within regulatory compliance, and administered with fairness and equity; and

WHEREAS, Charles Collier's inquisitive and judicious nature made him an invaluable member of the City of Falls Church Retirement Board, and his legacy of service will be an inspiration to others for years to come; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Charles Collier hereby be commended for his 22 years of service on the City of Falls Church Retirement Board on the occasion of his retirement; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Charles Collier as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his contributions to Falls Church and the Commonwealth.
