HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 659

Commending Lori Allyne Hilton.



Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 12, 2025

WHEREAS, Lori Allyne Hilton is an accomplished businesswoman and community leader who broke down barriers for Black female tow truck drivers in Richmond; and

WHEREAS, born and raised in the Jackson Ward neighborhood of Richmond, Lori Hilton attended Richmond Public Schools, including the Richmond Technical Center, where she trained to become a certified nursing assistant in the 1990s; and

WHEREAS, Lori Hilton was encouraged throughout her life by her mother, Sadie Esther Hilton, and her father, Lorenzo Hilton, who owned a store in Jackson Ward; and

WHEREAS, with the guidance and support of fellow tow truck drivers and companies, Lori Hilton established Hilton Towing along West Nine Mile Road in Richmond in 2000, making history as one of the first Black tow truck drivers in the city; and

WHEREAS, Lori Hilton also found success with the business venture RJ Mart in Richmond, which incorporated aspects of a convenience store, mechanic shop, and car wash; and

WHEREAS, both through her businesses and in her personal life, Lori Hilton has generously cared for unhoused individuals and other individuals in need, providing them with free tows, food, gas, clothing, or shelter to help them on their way; and

WHEREAS, Lori Hilton is a devoted mother who has given everything she has to support her children, Lamar Antoine Hilton and Latoya Ashley Hilton; and

WHEREAS, Lori Hilton has demonstrated great skill and patience as a breeder of Yorkshire Terriers for the past 22 years; and

WHEREAS, Lori Hilton's compassion and commitment to the well-being of others has led her to care for both young people and elderly members of her community; and

WHEREAS, through her unwavering selflessness and resolve, Lori Hilton has made a difference in countless lives and earned the esteem and admiration of all Virginians; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Lori Allyne Hilton hereby be commended for her remarkable achievements as a businesswoman and community leader; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Lori Allyne Hilton as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for her contributions to the Commonwealth.
