HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 657

Celebrating the life of the Reverend William Lee Statzer.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 17, 2025

WHEREAS, the Reverend William Lee Statzer, a spiritual leader in Bristol, died on January 23, 2025; and

WHEREAS, William Statzer was a devout member of Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church in Bristol, where he enjoyed fellowship and worship with the community; and

WHEREAS, William Statzer was a longtime youth pastor who touched the lives of countless young people through his inspirational guidance and wisdom; and

WHEREAS, William Statzer brought joy to everyone he met through his kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith; and

WHEREAS, William Statzer will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 36 years, Brenda; his second mother, Mildred Statzer; his twin brother, Walter, and his family; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of the Reverend William Lee Statzer, a highly admired member of the Bristol community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of the Reverend William Lee Statzer as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
