HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 611

Commending Brenda Johnson.



Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 10, 2025

WHEREAS, Brenda Johnson, an active and engaged civic leader, was presented the Lifetime Achievement award by the Women's Division of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce in Chesapeake in 2024; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Johnson is a graduate of Oscar F. Smith High School in Chesapeake, and she enjoyed a successful career as a merchandiser with the personal care product company Revlon prior to her retirement; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Johnson supported the growth and development of young people in Chesapeake as a member of multiple parent teacher associations, including the Oscar Smith Middle School parent teacher association, which she served as president; and

WHEREAS, as a member of the Chesapeake School Board, Brenda Johnson worked tirelessly to promote the success and well-being of students and faculty at Chesapeake Public Schools; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Johnson has generously supported the Women's Division of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce in Chesapeake through her involvement with a number of its committees and service programs; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Johnson has made an impact on the South Norfolk community of Chesapeake as an active member of the Woman's Club of South Norfolk, the South Norfolk Civic League, and the South Norfolk Revitalization Commission; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Johnson's dedication and service have helped to make Chesapeake a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Brenda Johnson hereby be commended for receiving the Lifetime Achievement award from the Women's Division of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce in Chesapeake in 2024; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Brenda Johnson as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her contributions to Chesapeake and the Commonwealth.
