HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 563

Commending Charlie Porterfield.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 3, 2025

WHEREAS, Charlie Porterfield, head coach of the Kettle Run High School football team in Nokesville, was selected as the Virginia High School League Class 3 Coach of the Year in 2024; and

WHEREAS, Charlie Porterfield has served as head coach of the Kettle Run High School Cougars for nine seasons, leading the team to an outstanding 75–28 overall record in that time; and

WHEREAS, during the 2024 season, Charlie Porterfield guided the Kettle Run Cougars to achieve a 14–1 record and their second state championship appearance in three years; and

WHEREAS, under Charlie Porterfield's leadership, the Kettle Run Cougars averaged an impressive 41.8 points and 396.9 yards per game; and

WHEREAS, Charlie Porterfield was also named the 2024 Region 3B Coach of the Year and the Northwestern District Coach of the Year; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Charlie Porterfield hereby be commended on his selection as the Virginia High School League Class 3 Coach of the Year; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Charlie Porterfield as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his contributions to young people in Nokesville as a trusted mentor.
