HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 733

Commending the Tunstall High School chapter of Future Farmers of America.

WHEREAS, the Tunstall High School chapter of Future Farmers of America in Dry Fork was presented the National Chapter 3-Star Award, named National Finalists for Premier Chapter, and presented the Top 10 Premier National Chapter Award by the National FFA Organization in 2017 and 2024; and

WHEREAS, the National FFA Organization is a school-based national youth leadership development organization of more than 1,027,200 student members across 9,235 local Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands; and

WHEREAS, the FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education; and

WHEREAS, for 99 years, the FFA has leveraged agricultural education to provide students with opportunities to explore new ideas, acquire experience, become impactful members of their school and community, and learn to advocate for themselves and the causes they support; and

WHEREAS, the Tunstall High School FFA received several of the organization's most prestigious honors for actively implementing the organization's mission and strategies; and

WHEREAS, the Tunstall High School FFA improved operations by using the National FFA Organization's National Quality Chapter Standards and Program of Activities and incorporating all 15 FFA quality standards into their organizational activities and events while providing educational experiences for the entire membership; and

WHEREAS, the quality standards the Tunstall High School FFA achieved are organized across three divisions, including building communities, strengthening agriculture, and growing leaders; within these divisions, the standards are further organized into five categories, including citizenship, healthy lifestyle, career success, scholarship, and agriculture; and

WHEREAS, in addition to achieving the quality standards, the Tunstall High School FFA has also received the State Superior Gold Chapter Award annually for the past decade; and

WHEREAS, by preparing countless students to take charge of their futures and become the leaders of tomorrow, the Tunstall High School FFA has left a positive and lasting imprint on the Pittsylvania County community and beyond; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Tunstall High School chapter of Future Farmers of America for receiving the Future Farmers of America's National Chapter 3-Star Award, being named National Finalists for Premier Chapter, and being presented the Top 10 Premier National Chapter Award; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Tunstall High School chapter of Future Farmers of America as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the chapter's accomplishments and best wishes for its continued success.
