Celebrating the life of Robert Smith Quinn, Jr.

WHEREAS, Robert Smith Quinn, Jr., a dedicated employee of the Commonwealth and a beloved member of the Danville and Richmond communities, died on December 5, 2024; and
WHEREAS, born in Richmond, Robert Quinn began his service with the Commonwealth as a clerk in the Legislative Bill Room at the General Assembly from 1987 to 1998 and concluded his career at the Department of General Services, where he worked from 1998 until his retirement in 2018; and
WHEREAS, over his 31 years as a state employee, Robert Quinn worked tirelessly to faithfully execute his responsibilities for the good of the Commonwealth and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, Robert Quinn encouraged others to embrace their civic duty and gave generously of his time to support various political candidates over the years; and
WHEREAS, Robert Quinn was an active and involved member of his community who served as a member of the Bon Air Historical Society while living in the Richmond area; and
WHEREAS, Robert Quinn was cherished by all who knew him for his kind and affable nature and for the enthusiasm he brought to his work and community service; and
WHEREAS, Robert Quinn will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his mother, Marie; his sister, Yvonne, and her family; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Robert Smith Quinn, Jr., a treasured member of the Danville and Richmond communities whose light brightened countless lives; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Robert Smith Quinn, Jr., as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
