HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 692

Commending Spring Hill Elementary School.

WHEREAS, Spring Hill Elementary School of Fairfax County Public Schools was named a National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education in 2024; and

WHEREAS, Spring Hill Elementary School was one of only eight schools in the Commonwealth and 356 schools in the country to receive this prestigious honor in 2024, which recognizes high-performing schools and schools making exemplary progress toward closing achievement gaps; and

WHEREAS, Spring Hill Elementary School, which serves families representing more than 52 birth countries and speaking more than 43 languages, has scored highly in reading and mathematics assessments across various demographic groups; and

WHEREAS, in 2023, Spring Hill Elementary School was awarded the Highest Achievement Award for Academic Excellence by the Department of Education after posting consistently high Standards of Learning scores over several years; and

WHEREAS, Spring Hill Elementary School is dedicated to cultivating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that challenges its students to grow academically while fostering their physical, social, and emotional well-being; and

WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Spring Hill Elementary School are the result of the hard work and determination of its students, the leadership and guidance of its teachers and staff, and the unwavering support of its families, partners, and the entire Spring Hill Elementary School community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Spring Hill Elementary School for being named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2024; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Spring Hill Elementary School as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the school's achievements and best wishes for its continued success.
