HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 676

Commending the Stroke Comeback Center.

WHEREAS, the Stroke Comeback Center, an organization in Vienna dedicated to assisting stroke and brain trauma survivors with ongoing and personally meaningful programs within a supportive and peer-driven environment, celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2025; and

WHEREAS, the Stroke Comeback Center employs the Life Participation Approach to Aphasia to help its clients reengage with their lives following a stroke or brain trauma, measuring their success by how they overcome personal and environmental barriers; and

WHEREAS, the Stroke Comeback Center recognizes that strokes and brain traumas affect both individuals and their families and has developed programs and resources designed to benefit a person's entire support network; and

WHEREAS, the Stroke Comeback Center strives to be inclusive and available to all and has never turned any individual away who was unable to afford its programs and services; and

WHEREAS, as a result of the tireless efforts of its staff, the Stroke Comeback Center has empowered an untold number of patients to improve their ability to communicate and connect with others; and

WHEREAS, by helping stroke and brain trauma survivors build confidence and achieve their full potential, the Stroke Comeback Center has made a profound and lasting impact on countless lives; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Stroke Comeback Center on the occasion of its 20th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Stroke Comeback Center as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for its support of individuals affected by a stroke or brain trauma.
