WHEREAS, Kayla Nguyen, a distinguished student leader from Aldie was awarded the Sgt. Moses Adams Memorial Middle School Brochure Contest Award for the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2024; and
WHEREAS, Kayla Nguyen's award-winning brochure thoughtfully explored the profound effects of the Declaration of Independence on American history, beautifully illustrating its lasting impact on both the Commonwealth and the nation; and
WHEREAS, as an eighth-grade student at Willard Middle School at the time, Kayla Nguyen triumphed over her peers from middle schools across the Commonwealth to secure this esteemed recognition; and
WHEREAS, Kayla Nguyen's success in the state competition led her to the national contest hosted by the Sons of the American Revolution, where she earned an impressive fifth-place finish nationally, representing the Commonwealth among the top winners from all 50 states; and
WHEREAS, Kayla Nguyen's unwavering dedication to learning, preserving history, and promoting civic engagement exemplifies her exceptional character and her commitment to the betterment of both the Commonwealth and the nation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Kayla Nguyen on her remarkable achievement and her devotion to preserving American history; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Kayla Nguyen as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for her exceptional contributions to the Commonwealth, her artistic talent, and her steadfast commitment to preserving American history.
