HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 635

Commending Coresix Precision Glass.

WHEREAS, Coresix Precision Glass, an industry-leading custom glass and glass wafer manufacturer based in Williamsburg, won first place and the “Best in Show” overall title for their precision glass solutions in the 2024 Virginia Manufacturing Cup; and

WHEREAS, Coresix Precision Glass's achievement highlights its commitment to innovation and world-class glass fabrication for tomorrow's technologies; and

WHEREAS, Coresix Precision Glass is a premier supplier of versatile, reliable glass to an array of markets, with its glass components utilized for aerospace programs, avionics applications, biotechnology, display technologies, glass-based optical devices, and semiconductors; and

WHEREAS, Coresix Precision Glass's glass wafers and products can be found in homes, hospitals, and highways throughout the world and as far away as Mars; and

WHEREAS, the Virginia Manufacturing Cup is an annual competition hosted by the Virginia Manufacturers Association that recognizes hard work and ingenuity within the Virginia manufacturing sector, which has long served as the backbone of the Commonwealth's economy, driving economic growth, capital investment, job creation, and innovation; and

WHEREAS, the Virginia Manufacturing Cup celebrates “the coolest things made in Virginia” by recognizing top products in nine industry categories, ranging from ships to chips and electric trucks to space exploration technology, reflecting the Commonwealth's diverse manufacturing sector; and

WHEREAS, Coresix Precision Glass was duly nominated for the 2024 Virginia Manufacturing Cup and received the highest number of votes of the 53,000 total votes cast by the public; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Coresix Precision Glass for its achievement at the 2024 Virginia Manufacturing Cup; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Coresix Precision Glass as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for its excellence in manufacturing.
