HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 619

Commending Dianne Piotrowski.

WHEREAS, Dianne Piotrowski, an esteemed civil servant and customer service representative with the City of Colonial Heights who has admirably served the locality and its citizens for more than 50 years, retired on February 1, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Dianne Piotrowski started working with the City of Colonial Heights on June 1, 1974, as a secretary in the engineering department, then was briefly the water office manager before serving in various roles in the finance department between 1977 and 1989; and

WHEREAS, Dianne Piotrowski has been the City of Colonial Heights' customer service representative since 1989 and also serves as its utility billing supervisor, working closely with citizens and customers to ensure the proper and efficient delivery of the city's services; and

WHEREAS, with exceptional interpersonal skills and unflagging positivity, Dianne Piotrowski has excelled in her role as the city's first contact for its citizens and customers, helping many navigate the city's services to acquire the support that they need; and

WHEREAS, Dianne Piotrowski holds a wealth of knowledge and expertise relating to the City of Colonial Heights from her half-century of service and is a reliable and highly sought source of information for residents and her fellow coworkers alike; and

WHEREAS, Dianne Piotrowski unfailingly goes beyond the call of duty to assist and support the citizens who rely on her for help and has been instrumental to the City of Colonial Heights' administrative transitions over the years, helping the locality grow and thrive with minimal inconveniences or difficulties; and

WHEREAS, Dianne Piotrowski's service with the City of Colonial Heights is a family endeavor, as her husband, Paul Piotrowski, was a longtime law-enforcement officer in the locality and her son John Piotrowski serves on the Colonial Heights City Council; and

WHEREAS, through her hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of the citizens she serves, Dianne Piotrowski has exemplified the highest ideals of civil service and is deserving of the praise and respect of all Virginians; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Dianne Piotrowski for her extraordinary legacy of service with the City of Colonial Heights; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Dianne Piotrowski as an expression of the General Assembly's high regard for her contributions to Colonial Heights and the Commonwealth.
