HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 549

Commending Dover Hall.

WHEREAS, Dover Hall, a distinguished wedding and event venue in Goochland County was named “Best for Weddings, Parties, and Celebrations in North America” as part of the Condé Nast Johansens 2025 Awards for Excellence; and

WHEREAS, Dover Hall, an English Tudor-inspired estate situated in the bucolic hills of Manakin-Sabot, was conceived by the original owners, Dennis and Cindy Pryor, who set out to build a home styled after the manor houses of the English countryside; and

WHEREAS, in 2017, Dover Hall was transformed from a private residence into an event venue by Jeff Ottaviano and Chad Hornik, co-owners and managers of Dover Hall Experiences, who aimed to create a space capable of hosting exceptional, world-class events; and

WHEREAS, with more than 38,000 square feet of living space and 55 private acres, Dover Hall offers guests a serene and transporting setting for their most important occasions and celebrations; and

WHEREAS, Dover Hall is both adorned with antique furnishings and artwork sourced from across Europe and equipped with many modern amenities, enabling visitors to appreciate the grandeur of the past while enjoying the conveniences of today; and

WHEREAS, Dover Hall's services are supported by its artisan in-house culinary team led by renowned chef Leah Randolph and include in-house beverage programs featuring wine from 7 Lady Vineyards, which is produced on the grounds of the estate; and

WHEREAS, the recent accolade from Condé Nast Johansens, one of the most prestigious luxury reference guides in the world, is a testament to the commitment of excellence that defines Dover Hall; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Dover Hall for being named “Best for Weddings, Parties, and Celebrations in North America” as part of the Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence 2025; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Dover Hall as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the venue's achievement and best wishes for its continued success.
