HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 532
Commending the Adler Center for Caring on the Van Metre Campus.

WHEREAS, the Adler Center for Caring on the Van Metre Campus, an initiative of Capital Caring Health that is the first inpatient hospice center in Loudoun County, celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2024; and
WHEREAS, the Adler Center for Caring on Van Metre Campus was established in 2014 by Capital Caring Health, one of the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area's largest nonprofit advanced illness care providers, to be a state-of-the-art facility that was designed to feel like home; and
WHEREAS, since its founding, the Adler Center for Caring on Van Metre Campus has comforted thousands of individuals and families in their time of need, including more than 400 patients in 2022; and
WHEREAS, the Adler Center for Caring on the Van Metre Campus offers an abundance of amenities to improve the quality of life for its patients and their families, including private rooms with access to the outdoors, a library and chapel, and other beautiful and spacious places to gather, such as a country kitchen, terrace, and garden; and
WHEREAS, with the generous support of the Adler and Van Metre families and the entire Loudoun County community, Capital Caring Health is able to provide its patients with essential hospice services regardless of their ability to pay; and
WHEREAS, the Adler Center for Caring on the Van Metre Campus is one of only a handful of inpatient hospice units currently operating in the Commonwealth and is on the vanguard for hospice care nationwide; and
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Adler Center for Caring on the Van Metre Campus are a testament to the tireless efforts and dedication of its leaders, staff, and volunteers, who are deserving of the esteem and admiration of all Virginians; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Adler Center for Caring on the Van Metre Campus on the occasion of its 10th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Adler Center for Caring on the Van Metre Campus as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for the center's commitment to excellence in caring for individuals and families of the Commonwealth.
