HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 546
Commending Bill Rilee.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 3, 2025
WHEREAS, for nearly four and a half decades, Bill Rilee has provided exceptional leadership to the King and Queen County Republican Committee; and
WHEREAS, Bill Rilee began leading the King and Queen County Republican Committee during John Dalton's term as governor, and there have been 11 other governors of Virginia during Bill's distinguished tenure as chair; and
WHEREAS, Bill Rilee guided the King and Queen County Republican Committee to become a model for other local party committees, ensuring that meetings are held consistently and that attendance stays high by inviting speakers or providing other presentations to members; and
WHEREAS, in addition to supporting Republican candidates and staffing polling places on election days, Bill Rilee and the King and Queen County Republican Committee have prioritized outreach programs to enhance community life; and
WHEREAS, under Bill Rilee's leadership, the King and Queen County Republican Committee has taken a special interest in supporting local veterans and collects funds for charitable organizations at its meetings; and
WHEREAS, Bill Rilee has inspired others through his calm demeanor and reassuring management style, and he has helped the members of the King and Queen County Republican Committee overcome many challenges and serve the community to the best of their ability; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Bill Rilee hereby be commended for his incredible 44-year tenure as chair of the King and Queen County Republican Committee; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Bill Rilee as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his commitment to civic leadership.
