HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 489
Commending Todd Brown.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 27, 2025
WHEREAS, for nearly three decades, Todd Brown provided transformational leadership to the congregation of Bridge Christian Church in Fishersville, helping the congregation to grow in both faith and number during his long tenure as lead pastor; and
WHEREAS, originally known as Blue Ridge Church of Christ, Bridge Christian Church was established in December 1995 by a group that had broken off from another local church, where Todd Brown was serving as a youth minister and elder; and
WHEREAS, the steering committee of what is now Bridge Christian Church asked Todd Brown to serve as a part-time preacher and offer his leadership on the board; he became the full-time lead pastor in 1997 and subsequently helped the church grow from an initial congregation of 20 to more than 2,000 people; and
WHEREAS, through his wisdom, creativity, determination, and inspirational preaching, Todd Brown helped the congregation of Bridge Christian Church thrive and expand to its current location on Goose Creek Road in Fishersville to better serve the members of the growing community; and
WHEREAS, Todd Brown oversaw the creation of several ministries, including a business support ministry designed to empower local business owners, and community outreach projects that have touched countless lives throughout the region; and
WHEREAS, Todd Brown also helped Bridge Christian Church plan mission trips around the world and personally traveled to New Zealand, India, and Ireland to minister to communities in need; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Todd Brown hereby be commended for his outstanding service to the congregation of Bridge Christian Church; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Todd Brown as an expression of the House of Delegate's admiration for his wise spiritual leadership and legacy of contributions to the Fishersville community.
