SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 323

Commending Evan Kinsel.



Agreed to by the Senate, February 22, 2025

WHEREAS, Evan Kinsel, a student at Gainesville High School in Prince William County, received the Congressional Award Gold Medal for his commitment to community leadership and service in 2024; and

WHEREAS, the Congressional Award Gold Medal is presented by the United States Congress to recognize the achievements and initiative of young people between the ages of 14 and 23 who have gone above and beyond to support their communities; and

WHEREAS, Evan Kinsel led a team of 83 volunteers to distribute food, socks, hats, gloves, blankets, hand warmers, personal hygiene items, and other necessities to individuals at homeless shelters throughout Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.; and

WHEREAS, Evan Kinsel and his team touched hundreds of lives through their kindness and generosity, demonstrating exceptional character and setting a strong example for his classmates and peers; and

WHEREAS, as a winner of the Congressional Award Gold Medal, Evan Kinsel was honored with a special ceremony at the United States Capitol; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That Evan Kinsel, winner of a 2024 Congressional Award Gold Medal, hereby be commended for his achievements in community service; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Evan Kinsel as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for his commitment to servant-leadership and best wishes for the future.
