SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 307

Commending Geri and Susan Yantis.

Agreed to by the Senate, February 22, 2025

WHEREAS, Geri and Susan Yantis have greatly served the Clifton community by spearheading the Town of Clifton's Streetscape Project; and

WHEREAS, 13 years ago, Geri and Susan Yantis were instrumental in initiating the Town of Clifton's Streetscape Project, an initiative to improve pedestrian circulation and visibility in the town's historic central business district; and

WHEREAS, the Streetscape Project envisioned by Geri and Susan Yantis, which breaks ground in spring 2025, will create accessible sidewalks, assist with calming traffic and speeds, and improve the aesthetics of the town by removing utility poles and adding trees; and

WHEREAS, over the past 13 years, Geri and Susan Yantis have overcome many challenges and hurdles to realize the Streetscape Project, which will greatly enhance the quality of life in Clifton; and

WHEREAS, in addition to the Streetscape Project, Susan Yantis also serves the locality as the chair of the Town of Clifton's Special Projects Committee; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That Geri and Susan Yantis hereby be commended for their legacy of service in support of the Town of Clifton's Streetscape Project; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Geri and Susan Yantis as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for their contributions to the Town of Clifton.
