SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 392

Commending Teri McNally.

WHEREAS, Teri McNally, longtime chief executive officer of the Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River, a nonprofit organization managing and distributing charitable giving in the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, and Caroline and the City of Fredericksburg, will retire on March 31, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Teri McNally took the helm of the Community Foundation in 2002 shortly after the organization's founding and has since helped grow its asset base from $870,000 to more than $60 million, with 219 donor funds assisting various local services and endeavors; and

WHEREAS, over Teri McNally's tenure, the Community Foundation has distributed more than $21 million to provide scholarships to students and support local nonprofit organizations, churches, schools, and more; and

WHEREAS, as a result of Teri McNally's efforts, the Community Foundation looks to considerably grow its asset base in the near future, allowing the organization to make an even greater impact on the community; and

WHEREAS, in her well-deserved retirement, Teri McNally plans to visit friends and family, take classes, travel, read, and spend quality time with her grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, through exceptional leadership and an unwavering commitment to the Community Foundation's mission, Teri McNally has helped to make the Rappahannock region a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Teri McNally on the occasion of her retirement; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Teri McNally as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for her contributions to the Commonwealth and best wishes for a joyful and fulfilling retirement.
