Commending the Ideaventions Academy Daedalus robotics team.

Patrons—Keys-Gamarra, Cohen, Delaney, Hope, McQuinn, Sullivan and Tran

WHEREAS, the Ideaventions Academy Daedalus robotics team of Reston won its second consecutive national championship title at the Advanced Vertical Robotics competition on December 7, 2024, in Dallas, Texas; and

WHEREAS, Daedalus swept the Advanced Vertical Robotics qualifying events in November 2024, securing first place overall and accolades for Best Presentation; and

WHEREAS, moving on to the national championship, Daedalus cemented their place as national leaders in this elite competition through their hard work, creativity, and dedication; and

WHEREAS, for the 2024 national competition, Daedalus designed and built large drones equipped with thermal and visual scanning capabilities and used them to simulate disaster relief efforts in the aftermath of a hurricane; and

WHEREAS, every member of Daedalus contributed to the victory, showcasing their advanced skills in robot operating systems design, 3D printing, and laser cutting; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Ideaventions Academy Daedalus robotics team hereby be commended for winning its second consecutive national championship title in 2024; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Ryan Heitz, head coach of the Ideaventions Academy Daedalus robotics team, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the team's achievements.
