WHEREAS, Clarice Lorine Jordan, an esteemed employee of the Department of Health and beloved member of the Richmond community, died on February 11, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Clarice Jordan attended Fair Oaks Elementary School in Highland Springs and went on to graduate from the historic Virginia Randolph Community High School in Glen Allen in 1967; and
WHEREAS, Clarice Jordan graduated from the former Smithdeal-Massey Business College before devoting more than 30 years to the Commonwealth as an employee with the Department of Health, while also assisting her brother Dennis as a supervisor of his janitorial business; and
WHEREAS, Clarice Jordan's pastimes included shopping, playing Bid Whist, and reading, but she found her greatest joy in spending quality time with family; and
WHEREAS, with an abundance of love, wisdom, and kindness, Clarice Jordan welcomed and embraced the responsibility of raising her nieces and nephews and caring for her mother over the years; and
WHEREAS, Clarice Jordan was cherished by all who knew her for her warm and friendly nature, her remarkable ability to connect with people, and her willingness to help others in need; and
WHEREAS, Clarice Jordan accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Fellowship of Seven Pines Baptist Church in Sandston, where she enjoyed worship and fellowship with her community and family; and
WHEREAS, Clarice Jordan will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her loving siblings, the Reverend Lawrence S. Jordan, the Reverend Lionel H. Jordan, Norman D. Jordan, Minister Dennis E. Jordan, Alan W. Jordan, Darryl L. Jordan, the Honorable Delores L. McQuinn, and Brenda M. Jordan, and their families and by numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Clarice Lorine Jordan, a treasured member of the Richmond community whose light brightened countless lives; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Clarice Lorine Jordan as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for her memory.
